A few things I recommend at home
Patients ask what shoes to buy and what mattress to sleep on more than almost anything else. Here is what I tell them.
Footwear
Feet are the foundation of everything above them. A narrow, cushioned, rigid shoe lets the foot go weak and passes problems up to the knees, hips, and back. A wide toe box and a thin, flexible sole let the foot do its job.
I have looked at a lot of brands, and Vivobarefoot is the one I recommend most. They have given our patients a code for 10 percent off.
Mattresses
You spend a third of your life on it, so it matters. What I look for: real support for the spine, materials that do not off-gas, a long home trial so you can change your mind, and a company that hauls the old one away.
Saatva checks all of those, and patients of the practice get $100 off in addition to any sale they are running. The discount applies automatically through the link.
Central Health has partner relationships with Vivobarefoot and Saatva and may earn a commission on purchases made through these links. The recommendations are my own and would be the same without them.
