If you do not have insurance, or you are choosing not to use it, you have the right to know what your care will cost before it starts.
Your right to a Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give patients who are uninsured or self-pay a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of items and services before they are provided.
- You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule, and you will receive one in writing at least one business day before a scheduled visit. You can also ask for one for any service at any time.
- Make sure to save a copy. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- The estimate is not a bill and does not require you to receive care from us.
